Right-wing youth activist and influencer Charlie Kirk, a close ally of President Donald Trump, was shot dead on September 10 in what was described as a "political assassination," raising fears of further political violence in an increasingly volatile United States. Trump confirmed via social media that Kirk, 31, had succumbed to his injuries.
