Suriya, director Siva join hands for first time for Suriya 39
Suriya, who is currently busy with his films NGK and Kaappaan, will soon begin work on a film, tentatively titled Suriya 39, to be directed by Viswasam director Siva.
Actor Suriya, who has currently three projects in his kitty, has signed one more film with director Siva. This will mark his maiden collaboration with Siva, who is basking in the success of blockbuster Viswasam. The yet-untitled project is currently dubbed as Suriya 39.
Studio Green will bankroll Suriya 39 which will be a city-based commercial entertainer. The makers are yet to reveal the rest of the cast and crew. However, it is learnt from reliable sources that the project will only go on the floors later this year.

The project has been in talks for few months now. Siva had a commitment with Studio Green to do a project for more than a year and finally managed to find time now. Suriya is currently busy shooting for Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru, based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath - founder of the budget airline Air Deccan.
Being produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, Soorarai Pottru marks the southern debut of well-known Bollywood producer Guneet Monga, who will be co-producing this project. GV Prakash Kumar has been roped in to compose music. He’s apparently already composed all the songs for the project.
It’s going to be a busy 2019 for Suriya as he might have three releases. Having recently completed shooting for Selvaraghavan’s NGK, which is gearing up for release on May 31, he’s currently busy wrapping up work on KV Anand’s Kaappaan, which is eyeing August release.
