NFL world reacts to Jaxson Dart replacing Russel Wilson
Jaxson Dart will make his debut for the New York Giants on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. After the Giants announced Dart would replace Wilson, former NFL players reacted to the news on X, formerly Twitter. Former offensive guard for the Carolina Panthers, Geoff Schwartz, said: “Anyone could see this coming. Wilson out. Dart in.”
Lawrence Tynes, former placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, also appreciated the move. “The right move! Go be great, young man!” he wrote.
Former quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, Kurt Warner, also weighed in on the matter. “I love Coach Daboll & have seen that creativity, but haven’t seen it much in these last 3 weeks & it’s been hard on QB IMO (especially in RZ)! Even game against Dallas was a lot of “throw it up” type plays!” he said.
Warner hoped that Dart replacing Wilson would “give us some clarity” about Coach Daboll’s approach.

Robert Griffin III, who played for the Baltimore Ravens, spoke in favor of Dart as well. “Jaxson Dart is a baller. He will provide a SPARK for the Giants’ offense because of his ability to make things right with his youthful athleticism when protections break down or the play is dead,” he said on X.
In the same vein, Brian Baldinger, a former guard for the Dallas Cowboys, said he was “very excited to see your [Dart’s] debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
