In front of Netanyahu, Trump risks military attack on Israel? 'Blackmail Iran' bid as sanctions hit?

At a White House press conference alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Donald Trump said he believes Iran could eventually join the Abraham Accords, the US-brokered normalization agreement between Israel and several Muslim-majority nations. Trump called Iran “open” to the prospect, despite recent hostilities, and said the US seeks “eternal peace in the Middle East.” He also announced that Netanyahu had agreed to a sweeping US proposal to end the nearly two-year Gaza war—including an immediate ceasefire, a phased Israeli withdrawal, hostages-for-prisoners swaps, Hamas disarmament, and a transitional international administration. The plan, presented at the UN, remains in doubt due to Hamas’s opposition, but Trump claimed Israel’s support and said it’s “time” for peace in Gaza and the wider region.
