- India has issued a scathing response to Pakistan over its comments on the ongoing controversy over ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma's remarks on the Prophet. The External Affairs Ministry said that Pakistan should stop with its alarmist propaganda on the issue. "The world has been witness to the systemic persecution of minorities including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Ahmadiyyas by Pakistan. We call on Pakistan to focus on the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities instead of engaging in alarmist propaganda and attempting to foment communal disharmony in India," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.
