Manipur CM Biren Singh Resigns 21 Months After Violence Engulfed Restive State | Manipur News

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on February 9 resigned from the post amid violence in the restive state. Biren Singh handed over his letter of resignation to Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan in capital Imphal. He was joined by at least 19 MLAs and BJP’s Manipur In-charge Sambit Patra and at least 19 MLAs were present at the Raj Bhavan. Ethnic violence in Manipur began on May 3, 2023 between Meiteis and Kuki communities.
