Two people were killed and over 200 injured in riots that erupted last night in Uttarakhand's Haldwani. People resorted to arson, stone pelting and even opened fire outside a police station after a Madrassa was demolished as a part of an anti-encroachment drive. Nainital district magistrate said the flare up wasn't a case of communal violence. Vandana Singh said the perpetrators of the violence will be identified and brought to justice.
