Tata Sons won the bid to acquire national carrier Air India, government announced on Friday. Following the announcement, Ratan Tata tweeted saying “Welcome back, Air India”. The Finance department assured that there will be no sacking of Air India employee for a year after the acquisition. Tatas have a long history with the national carrier as JRD Tata founded the airlines in 1932. Tata Sons was the frontrunner as it bid the highest for Air India. Watch the full video for more details.
