The UK has put military options on the table following a Russian spy ship’s laser attack on RAF pilots off the Scottish coast. UK Defence Secretary John Healey called the incident involving Russia’s “shadow fleet” vessel Yantar “deeply dangerous,” prompting the Royal Navy to change its rules of engagement. Healey warned Moscow that any move by the Yantar towards southern waters would elicit a response and affirmed Britain’s readiness to deter and track Russian operations.
