Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, confirming a major expansion of mutual investment and economic cooperation between the two nations. Mishustin said both sides have outlined “new tasks to strengthen trade, scientific and technological cooperation,” and emphasised creating favourable conditions for attracting mutual investment and supporting joint projects. The Russian leader also conveyed President Vladimir Putin’s best wishes to Xi. President Xi Jinping, for his part, praised the “high level of strategic mutual trust” between Moscow and Beijing, calling it the key guarantee for stable and sustainable development of their partnership. Following the talks, both sides adopted a joint communiqué including political and economic accords — and a document countering World War II revisionism. In total, 15 new agreements were signed.
