Speaking aboard Air Force One en route to Malaysia for the ASEAN Summit, President Donald Trump told reporters he will not meet with Vladimir Putin again unless progress toward a Ukraine peace deal is guaranteed, saying he “won’t waste time” without results. Trump highlighted successes in resolving other conflicts—such as Azerbaijan-Armenia and India-Pakistan—and called the Russia-Ukraine war “a matter of great hatred between the two leaders.” He also confirmed plans to discuss Russian oil sales, trade, and fentanyl trafficking with China’s President Xi Jinping, expressing optimism for a “complete and comprehensive deal” that protects U.S. farmers and curbs synthetic drug exports.
