Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez warned that recent global events show a more hostile, disorderly world where established international norms seem to matter less. Speaking on international security, he condemned threats to NATO members’ territorial integrity — specifically referencing Denmark and Greenland — and strongly criticised the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela as a dangerous precedent that cannot undermine sovereign nations. Sánchez reaffirmed that the future of Venezuela must be decided by Venezuelans, and emphasised Spain’s commitment to supporting democratic transitions and peacekeeping efforts, including potential roles in Ukraine and Palestine once conditions allow.
