Kremlin open to future Putin-Trump summit as urgent Ukraine peace talks stall

The Kremlin signaled that a new meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump is “possible,” though not immediately necessary, as Washington reassesses its approach to the Ukraine war. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS that while Moscow remains open to dialogue, no urgent summit is planned. President Trump’s peace initiative, once a key campaign promise to end the conflict “on day one,” appears to have slowed amid diplomatic hurdles and shifting U.S. strategy. The earlier Anchorage summit marked Putin’s first visit to a Western country since 2022, but a planned follow-up in Budapest has been canceled. Watch for more
