Trump and Putin to hold Budapest summit within two weeks, Kremlin confirms

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that preparations are underway for a landmark summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, expected within the next two weeks. Speaking after a confidential and “very productive” phone conversation between the two leaders, Peskov indicated that both sides expressed readiness for direct talks following the postponed August meeting in Alaska. He added that Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio are working to settle pre-summit details.
