Von der Leyen warns EU of ‘new, dangerous hybrid warfare’ over European skies

Ursula von der Leyen, marking her birthday, addressed the European Parliament by warning that Europe is facing “something new and dangerous” in its skies and across its territory. She highlighted recent incidents such as MiG fighter violations of Estonian airspace and drone activity over critical infrastructure in Belgium, Poland, Romania, Denmark, and Germany. According to her, these threats are deliberate, coordinated “hybrid warfare,” not random acts, meant to destabilize the European Union, test its unity, and undermine support for Ukraine.
