A crackdown on protests in Iran has resulted in at least 538 deaths and over 10,600 detentions, according to activists. The Iranian government declared three days of mourning for what they termed “martyrs” and warned of potential military retaliation against the US and Israel. Protests began over currency collapse and evolved into challenges against the regime.
