Service dog gets own class photograph in middle school’s yearbook

Oscer, a golden retriever who accompanied an autistic 14-year-old to the Vestal Middle School, was photographed and placed in the school’s yearbook next to the boy.

A service dog has his own photo in an upstate New York middle school’s yearbook.

Oscer, a golden retriever accompanies 14-year-old Hudson Golebiewski to the Vestal Middle School. The eighth-grader is autistic.

Like the other students, Oscer was photographed against a gray background and was placed in the yearbook next to Hudson.

Assistant principal Ashley McKenna initiated the idea of including Oscer’s picture.

Hudson’s mother, Bethany Golebiewski, is happy that Oscer has been a part of her son’s journey, she told the Binghamton Press and Sun-Bulletin .

Hudson said that he was happy to see Oscer’s photo in the yearbook.
