Arvada fire map: Mandatory evacuations issued near West 84th Place and Quaker Circle

A fast-moving fire in northwest Arvada, Colorado, has prompted mandatory evacuations for residents near West 84th Place and Quaker Circle.

UPDATE: The brush fire that broke out in Arvada, Colorado, on Thursday afternoon has been fully contained, and all evacuation and pre-evacuation orders have been lifted.

The fire ignited shortly before 1 p.m., prompting mandatory evacuations for residents near W. 84th Place at Quaker Circle and Quartz Street. Nearby homes along Leyden Ranch, from Orion Way to Moss Circle, were advised to prepare for possible evacuation as a precaution.

Fire crews successfully contained the blaze after it burned approximately 12 acres.

“All mandatory evacuation and pre-evacuations orders have been lifted,” Arvada police said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office described the incident as a “large house and grass fire” that is actively threatening nearby homes. The full extent of the blaze remains unknown at this time. Authorities have also warned residents in Leyden Ranch from Orion Way to Moss Circle to be prepared to evacuate if conditions worsen. See the map here.

“Arvada PD and @jeffcosheriffco are working to evacuate homes near W 84th Place and Quaker Circle. Residents off of 84th Place at Quaker Circle and Quartz Street are under mandatory evacuation. Other nearby residents off of 84th Place should prepare to evacuate,” Arvada Police said in a post on X.

Multiple agencies are currently on scene of the Arvada fire, including the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Arvada Police Department, West Metro Fire Rescue, and Golden Fire Department.
