Visuals of the tragic incident are being shared online, with many mourning the violent nature of the attack that unfolded there. Amid this, one person has shared a old post from conservative podcaster Candace Owens, seeking to link it to what unfurled in Providence.
What did Candace Owens say in old post
Owens, in the old X post, had said “They have been signaling that a 9/11 style attack is coming the second week of December. Save this tweet. It will age well.”
While Owens did not provide any proof to back her claims, the person sharing this post sought to tie it with the events that transpired today. Currently, it is not known what motivated the shooter and the university shooting is vastly different from the 9/11 terrorist attack where two planes were flown into the World Trade Center.
One person on X picked up on the differences between the 9/11 attacks and the Brown University shooting today, and remarked “How would this make her right.”
Another person shared Owens' old X post and wrote “Did #CandaceOwens know ? #brownuniversity shooting ? Terrorist attack ?.”
Since authorities do not have anyone in custody yet, no motive has emerged. Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel issued a statement, saying “FBI personnel are on the scene and assisting this evening after the shooting at Brown University and we will provide all capabilities necessary. Please pray for all those involved. We will update with more information as we are able.”
