Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect in the killing of the 31-year-old Donald Trump ally is still at large, despite the UVU saying initially that the suspect has been taken into custody.

Reports are claiming that Kirk might have been shot by a sniper from a distance, though nothing to that effect has been confirmed by the authorities. As of now, police have not confirmed if a sniper was involved in the shooting.

Amid the rumors, a video has surfaced that shows someone on the roof of the Loose Center at the Utah Valley University minutes before Kirk was shot.

Authorities are continuing the search for the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s shooting death after initially announcing that someone was in custody. FBI Director Kash Patel later clarified that the individual was released after interrogation, and Utah Governor Spencer Cox described the incident as a “political assassination.” In the latest update, Patel said that they are consulting foreign intelligence agencies, as well.

Confusion has surrounded the case, with one man first detained and later released after being booked for obstruction of justice. Gov. Cox later confirmed that law enforcement interviewed another person of interest, though Patel announced that person was also released. The FBI has now opened a digital tip line to gather more information.
