Charlie Kirk's 'Freedom' T-shirts flood stadium at Penn State vs. Oregon game: Here's why
Penn State’s home stadium saw thousands don Charlie Kirk’s ‘Freedom’ shirts as the Ducks won a thriller.
Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk’s death continues to lead to an outpouring of sorrow among sections of American society. On Saturday, thousands of fans appeared at the Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania for the college football game between Penn State Nittany Lions and Oregon Ducks, sporting Kirk’s famous ‘Freedom’ shirts, Fox News reported.

The game held symbolic importance for Kirk’s supporters as Oregon was his favorite college football team. The game itself was a tense event. It went to overtime and required a game-winning interception from the Oregon Ducks’ defensive back Dylan Thieneman to give the visiting team, Kirk’s favorite, a memorable win as they won by 30-24.

Special tribute to Charlie Kirk
According to Fox News, conservative non-profit organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA), founded by Kirk, was behind the initiative and handed out 5,000 shirts for the event. Emblazoned with the words ‘Freedom’, this is the same type of shirt that the late influencer was wearing when he was shot dead on September 10 at Utah Valley University.
“In the vein and in honor of Charlie Kirk, we are going to fight cultural battles, and we are going to win them in an arena that Charlie loved so very much — college football,” conservative influencer Benny Johnson had declared on the Will Cain Country podcast on Thursday.
“This was a game that Charlie Kirk was going to attend. Charlie Kirk loves Oregon, but he also has a bunch of fans at Penn State and has done huge events there,” Johnson further added.
Outkick.com reported that there were long lines of fans well before the game to collect the white shirts. TPUSA also facilitated the registration of youngsters for voting.
