Dhurandhar's Danish Pandor reacts to Hrithik Roshan's ‘disagree with it’s politics' comment: ‘You cannot deny…’

Danish Pandor, who stars in Dhurandhar, responds to Hrithik Roshan's review, acknowledging the film's political aspects as research-backed.

Danish Pandor, who plays Uzair Baloch in Dhurandhar is the first person from the film's cast and crew to react to Hrithik Roshan's review of the movie. Hrithik gave a mostly positive review of the film but added at the end that he did not agree with the politics of the movie. Now, in a chat with IndiaTV, Danish said that one cannot deny the facts that the film is based on.

Danish said, “This is very subjective. There are some things that you would prefer and I wouldn’t, and vice versa. As far as the political aspect goes, these are all research-backed elements. Even if you take into consideration the 26/11 attack, you can’t deny that it happened. The voice notes of the handlers and terrorists were played on screen; it literally gives you goosebumps and, at the same time, disheartens you as a person… what exactly have they done.”

Talking further about the pivotal scene in the movie when the 26/11 attackers' voice recordings are played on the screen, he said, “There were so many hostages inside, and when everything was unfolding through the media perspective, as we were watching it at that point in time, you couldn’t really realise what these people were going through. But just that voice note that has been portrayed on screen makes you empathise immediately. And what if you were there at that point in time? Empathising is very important.”

He added that after the scene ended, he went to lead actor Ranveer Singh, who clearly had a tough time filming such an emotionally charged scene.

What did Hrithik Roshan write

Hrithik wrote in his review, "I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. DHURANDAR is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It's cinema,” Hrithik wrote while reposting poster of Dhurandhar on his Instagram Stories.

The War 2 actor continued, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can't ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”

Danish Pandor's message for Ranveer Singh

On December 6, Danish posted a long message in appreciation of his scene partner Ranveer. We’ll kill it!” That one moment itself told me what kind of journey this was going to be!!
