At the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov responded to US President Donald Trump’s remarks calling Russia a "paper tiger." Lavrov emphasized Russia’s sovereignty, the failures of the 2014 Minsk Agreements, and dismissed the possibility of Ukraine returning to its 2022 borders, calling it “political blindness.” He accused Kyiv of breaking past accords and reignited claims of Western betrayal. Lavrov also warned that any violation of Russian airspace would bring “serious regret” and criticized Germany’s militarization drive, framing it as dangerous historical amnesia.
