Trump & Hegseth losing control after Kirk's assassination? Officers fired for ‘insensitive’ comments

Published on Sep 14, 2025 12:14 AM IST

The Pentagon has reportedly fired multiple military personnel for mocking or condoning Kirk’s death online. According to NBC News, defense officials confirmed that troops were relieved of duty over “insensitive” posts, with senior leaders like Pete Hegseth urging users to report negative reactions under the hashtag #RevolutionariesInTheRanks. Trump ally Laura Loomer further escalated tensions by calling for the dismissal of a Major General and his son who called Kirk “racist, homophobe, misogynist.” The Federal Emergency Management Agency employee Gavin Sylvia was placed on administrative leave following the uproar. A Pentagon spokesperson stressed that troops cannot condone political violence, though acknowledged that such disciplinary action is rare when it involves civilians. Charlie Kirk, a close Trump ally and Turning Point USA founder, was shot dead on September 10 at Utah Valley University. Police have arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the prime suspect.
