Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that Ankara is firmly opposed to any military intervention against Iran, stressing that the priority must be to avoid further regional destabilisation as Tehran continues its crackdown on protests. Speaking at a press conference in Istanbul, Fidan underlined that Turkey does not condone the use of violence and will continue pursuing diplomatic initiatives. Fidan added that Ankara hopes Iran and the United States can find a political solution to their ongoing tensions, warning that escalation would have serious consequences for the region.
