Russian Orthodox Metropolitan Tikhon, a bishop closely linked to Vladimir Putin, hailed slain U.S. conservative leader Charlie Kirk as a “martyr,” praising his influence on youth and his uncompromising faith. Kirk, assassinated by a sniper during a campus speech in Utah on September 10, has been widely honored across the globe, with Christian leaders calling him a modern-day martyr.
