Fresh waves of protests erupted across Iran, spreading to more than 100 cities amid soaring inflation, an internet blackout, and a fierce security crackdown. Videos from Tehran showed fireworks, chants, and open defiance, with some demonstrators invoking Iran’s pre-1979 monarchy. Eyewitnesses described extreme violence, alleging security forces fired live ammunition, killing scores and overwhelming hospitals. At least 116 people are reported dead. The unrest comes as U.S. President Donald Trump and senior officials voice support for protesters, drawing sharp backlash from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has branded demonstrators “enemies of God” and threatened the death penalty.
