Trump rattles Europe with Greenland attack plan, Denmark seeks India’s support against US warnings

Danish Conservative MP Rasmus Jarlov has strongly condemned remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting military pressure on Denmark, calling them “deeply troubling, unacceptable and unprecedented.” Jarlov said Denmark faces no threat from China and described claims of Chinese interest in Greenland as a “fake story,” arguing that the only real threat comes from the United States itself. He highlighted that Washington already enjoys extensive military access to Greenland under a 1951 Cold War-era agreement, despite drastically reducing troop presence over decades. The comments come amid renewed U.S. rhetoric about Greenland, where a large majority of residents oppose any American takeover and retain the right to decide their future through a referendum.
