The RC 160 follows the same design language seen on its larger siblings. It gets a full fairing, aggressive front fascia and a committed riding posture with clip-on handlebars. As expected from an RC, the motorcycle looks sporty and does carry KTM’s racing-focused identity.
Powering the RC 160 is a new 164.2 cc liquid-cooled engine that first debuted on the 160 Duke. It produces 18.74 bhp of max power at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch, making clutch action light and reducing rear wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. The engine is quite rev-happy, just like we have seen on other KTM motorcycles. This is also further proved by the redline, which is set at 10,200 rpm. KTM is claiming a top speed of 118 kmph.

The motorcycle is built around a trellis frame and uses inverted 37 mm upside-down front forks along with a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS. KTM has also added a Supermoto ABS mode in which the ABS is disabled on the rear wheel. There are 17-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 110/70, whereas the rear one is 140/60 unit.
On the feature front, the RC 160 gets all LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster and the TA variant also offers navigation support. The fuel tank capacity stands at 13.75 litres.
