Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Kyrgyzstan’s leadership of the CSTO and stressed the alliance’s growing role in maintaining stability amid global uncertainty. Speaking at a post-summit briefing, Putin highlighted that CSTO members must stay prepared to counter any external aggression while continuing non-escalatory policies. He emphasised defence cooperation, joint exercises, and expanding access to modern Russian military technology, including advances made during the special military operation. Putin also reaffirmed Russia’s intent to strengthen bureaucratic efficiency within CSTO institutions and maintain dialogue with Armenia despite its reduced participation. He concluded that Russia sees “great prospects” for further collective security cooperation.
